Ghana: Inflation falls to lowest level since April in August
Consumer prices fell a seasonally-adjusted 0.41% in August over the previous month, swinging from the 0.50% rise logged in July. August’s result marked the sharpest fall in prices since August 2016 and came on the back of marked falls in the prices for recreation, sport and culture as well as food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation dropped to 10.5% in August, which was down from July’s 11.4%. August’s result represented the lowest inflation rate since April. However, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 9.2% in August (July: 8.9%).
