Ghana: Inflation comes in at highest level since April 2017 in December

Consumer prices increased a seasonally-adjusted 1.26% over the previous month in December, coming in below November's 1.42% rise.

Inflation came in at 12.7% in December, up from November’s 12.3%. December's reading was the highest inflation rate since April 2017. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 10.0% in December (November: 9.8%).

FocusEconomics panelists see inflation averaging 9.4% in 2022, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month’s projection, and 8.4% in 2023.
