Germany: Merchandise exports rebound in June
Latest reading: Merchandise exports climbed 0.8% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in June (May: -1.4% mom s.a.). Meanwhile, merchandise imports rose 4.2% over last month in June (May: -3.9% mom s.a.), marking the strongest result since January 2025.
As a result, the merchandise trade balance deteriorated from the previous month, recording a USD 15.5 billion surplus in June (May 2025: USD 17.8 billion surplus; June 2024: USD 21.6 billion surplus). Lastly, the trend deteriorated, with the 12-month trailing merchandise trade balance recording a USD 211.4 billion surplus in June, compared to the USD 217.5 billion surplus in May.
