France: Harmonized inflation stable in December

Consumer prices increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.20% in December over the previous month, largely in line with November's 0.21% rise and reflecting rising prices for services and energy.

Harmonized inflation was stable in December, following November’s 0.2% increase. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down mildly, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 0.5% in December (November: 0.7%).

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect harmonized inflation to average 0.8% in 2021, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2022, panelists see harmonized inflation averaging 1.2%.
