France: Harmonized inflation holds steady in July
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation came in at 0.9% in July, unchanged from June’s figure and less than half the Euro area average. France’s inflation has been consistently below that of the Euro area in recent months, likely linked to France’s soft economy plus price subsidies and regulations.
The trend pointed down mildly, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 1.3% in July (June: 1.4%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation was stable, coming in at June’s 1.0% in July.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.28% in July over the previous month, a smaller increase than the 0.43% rise logged in June.
