France: Harmonized inflation rises in June
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation came in at 0.9% in June, up from May’s 0.6%, but well below the Euro area average. The acceleration was largely driven by rising price pressures for food and a milder decline in transportation costs.
The trend pointed down mildly, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 1.4% in June (May: 1.6%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 1.0% in June from May’s 0.7%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.43% in June over the previous month, contrasting May’s 0.18% drop.
