France: Harmonized inflation remains steady in April
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation came in at 0.9% in April, unchanged from March’s reading and less than half the Euro area average. Looking at the details of the release, food and housing prices rose at a quicker pace in April compared to the previous month, while price pressures for hospitality weakened.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 1.8% in April (March: 1.9%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation was stable, coming in at March’s 0.8% in April.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.66% in April over the previous month, accelerating from March’s 0.19% rise.
