France: Industrial output recovers in January

Industrial output expanded 1.3% from a month earlier and in seasonally-adjusted terms in January, on the heels of a revised flat month-on-month reading in December (previously reported: +0.8% month-on-month s.a.). January’s broad-based improvement was underpinned by faster manufacturing output.
On an annual basis, industrial output rose 1.7% in January (December: -2.5% year-on-year). Meanwhile, annual average industrial output growth ticked up to 0.5% from 0.4% in December.
France Industrial Production Forecast
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial output growth at 1.3% in 2019, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2020, panelists also expect industrial output growth at 1.3%.
