France: Industrial output growth gains steam in September
Industrial production increased 1.4% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in September (August: +1.1% mom). September’s reading was largely driven by an improvement in manufacturing production. In contrast, mining and quarrying output fell from the previous month.
On an annual basis, industrial output dropped 6.0% in September, easing from August’s 6.4% fall and marking the best result since February. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 9.6% in September, down from August’s minus 9.0% reading.
