France: Industrial activity deteriorates in July
Latest reading: Industrial output fell 1.1% in month-on-month seasonally and calendar-adjusted terms in July (June: +3.7% mom s.a.). The result reflected a fall in manufacturing and energy production. In contrast, mining and quarrying output rose.
On an annual basis, industrial output rose at a softer pace of 1.3% in July (June: +2.2% yoy). Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 0.2% in July, up from June’s minus 0.4% reading.
