Finland: Economic sentiment rises in July but remains downbeat
Latest reading: Economic sentiment rose to 95.2 in July from June’s 93.5. July’s result marked the best performance since June 2022. Still, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected improved sentiment in the industrial sector and in consumer sentiment in July. Conversely, sentiment in the construction sector weakened, and confidence in the retail and services sector deteriorated in the surveyed month
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations improved and the economic uncertainty index increased in July.
