Finland: Economic sentiment hits a near three-year high but remains downbeat in June
Latest reading: Economic sentiment came in at 93.3 in June, up from May’s 92.3. June’s result marked the strongest sentiment since July 2022. Still, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected healthier sentiment in the industrial sector and confidence in the services sector. Moreover, consumer sentiment was up in June. Meanwhile, the reading revealed weaker sentiment in the construction sector and confidence in the retail sector.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations weakened, and the economic uncertainty index decreased in June.
