Dominican Republic: Economic activity growth picks up pace in July
Latest reading: Economic activity rose 2.9% year on year in July (June: +1.1% yoy). According to preliminary data, the improvement was driven by the mining and construction sectors, whereas agricultural, manufacturing and services activity lost steam.
On a monthly basis, economic activity increased 2.2% in July, rebounding from June’s 1.8% fall and marking the best result since April 2024. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at an over one-year low of 3.2% in July, down from June’s 3.5% reading.
