Dominican Republic: Economic activity growth wanes in June
Latest reading: Economic activity expanded 1.1% year on year in June (May: +3.1% yoy). According to preliminary data, the moderation was driven by the construction sector, while momentum elsewhere in the economy largely carried over from the prior month.
On a monthly basis, economic activity dropped 1.6% in June, contrasting May’s 1.1% expansion and marking the worst result since March 2024. Meanwhile, annual average economic activity growth fell to 3.5% in June (May: +3.8%), pointing to a worsening trend.
