Denmark: Manufacturing production falls in March
Latest reading: Manufacturing output dropped 3.2% month on month in seasonally adjusted terms in March (February: +3.7% mom s.a.). The reading reflected a broad-based downturn across the major sectors, with output of non-durable consumer goods, investment goods and intermediate goods contracting in March after expanding in February.
On an annual basis, manufacturing production declined 5.3% in seasonally adjusted terms in March, an improvement from February’s 6.8% fall. Meanwhile, average annual manufacturing production growth fell to 4.3% in March (February: +5.1%), signaling a worsening trend in the manufacturing sector since the beginning of the year.
