Denmark: Economic sentiment falls in June
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 92.4 in May from April’s 92.6. The reading marked the worst result since November 2023 and the fifth straight decline. As a result, the index fell further below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a negative near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected weaker sentiment in the industrial sector and deteriorating confidence in the retail sector. On the flip side, sentiment improved in the construction sector, and June saw healthier confidence in the services sector. Moreover, consumer sentiment strengthened in the surveyed month.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated and the economic uncertainty index fell in June.
