Czech Republic: Inflation wanes in August
Latest reading: Inflation edged down to 2.5% in August, easing slightly from July’s 2.7%. August’s result marked the weakest inflation rate since May. Looking at the details of the release, prices for housing and utilities increased at a slower rate in August, and prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages also grew at a softer rate. Meanwhile, transportation prices dropped at a milder pace.
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.06% over the previous month in August, coming in below the 0.45% rise recorded in July.
