Czech Republic: Economic sentiment eases in July
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 97.1 in July from June’s 99.0. Consequently, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected worse sentiment in the industrial sector and dampened confidence in the construction and services sectors. Meanwhile, confidence in the retail sector rose, and sentiment among consumers was less downbeat.
Relating to indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index increased in July.
