Cyprus: Industrial production accelerates in August
Latest reading: Industrial production increased 2.4% on a calendar-adjusted month-on-month basis in August, following a 1.6% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in August improved for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-1.9% in annual terms vs -8.0% in July) and mining and quarrying (+2.3% vs -1.9% in July). In contrast, the reading for manufacturing worsened in August (+3.6% vs +3.9% in July).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production flatlined in August, following a 0.6% increase in the previous month.
