Croatia: Inflation picks up to a five-month high in April

May 16, 2018

Consumer prices rose 0.7% from the previous month in April, accelerating slightly from March’s 0.6% rise. According to the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (CBS), April’s increase was largely driven by higher prices for clothing and footwear, and transport.

Inflation picked up from 1.1% in March to 1.3% in April, the highest reading in five months. Meanwhile, annual average inflation remained stable from March at 1.1%.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect inflation to average 1.5% in 2018, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. In 2019, the panel expects inflation to average 1.9%.
