Croatia: Harmonized inflation increases in May
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation inched up to 4.3% in May, slightly above April’s 4.0%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages plus hospitality rose at a quicker pace in May. In contrast, prices pressures for housing and transportation were broadly in line with the previous month’s reading.
The trend was unchanged, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at April’s 3.9% in May. Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 3.5% in May from April’s 3.2%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.54% over the previous month in May, which was below the 0.72% increase logged in April.
