Croatia: Inflation rises in August
Latest reading: Harmonized consumer prices increased 4.6% on a year-on-year basis in August, following a 4.5% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for housing and utilities (+9.3% vs +6.3% in July) and restaurants and hotels (+7.9% vs +7.8% in July). In contrast, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+6.5% vs +7.1% in July), transportation (-0.8% vs -0.6% in July) and recreation (+4.1% vs +5.2% in July).
Meanwhile, consumer prices rose 4.2% in year-on-year terms in August, following a 4.1% rise in the prior month.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices were up 0.21% in August on a month-on-month basis, following a 1.21% rise in the prior month.
