Costa Rica: Inflation declines to lowest level since June in September
Inflation came in at 10.4% in September, down from August’s 12.1%. September’s reading represented the weakest inflation rate since June. The figure was primarily driven by a softer increase in prices for food, non-alcoholic beverages and transportation. In addition, price pressures for the information and communication sector continued to decline.
The trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 7.0% in September (August: 6.3%).
Lastly, consumer prices dropped 0.95% over the previous month in September, contrasting August’s 0.86% rise.
