Costa Rica: Inflation declines to lowest level since November 2024 in April
Latest reading: Inflation came in at 0.4% in April, which was down from March’s 1.2%. April’s figure marked the lowest inflation rate since November 2024. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose at a weaker rate in April. Moreover, prices for transportation decreased at a sharper pace.
The trend pointed up mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 0.3% in April (March: 0.2%).
Lastly, consumer prices dropped 0.51% over the previous month in April, coming in below the 0.32% fall seen in March. April’s result marked the sharpest fall in prices since February 2023.
