Costa Rica: Decline in consumer prices deepens in September
Latest reading: Consumer prices fell 1.0% on a year-on-year basis in September, following a 0.9% fall in the previous month.
Relative to the prior month’s data, there were more notable price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.9% vs -1.7% in August) and transportation (-3.7% vs -4.1% in August). Finally, the variation in housing prices was the same as in the prior month (+1.2% in September and August).
Lastly, consumer prices were down 0.40% in September on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.21% decline in the previous month.
