Costa Rica: Economic activity speeds up in July
Latest reading: Economic activity increased 7.7% in annual terms in July, following a 5.3% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in July improved for manufacturing (+24.2% vs +14.8% in June) and construction (+0.3% vs -6.2% in June). In contrast, readings softened for agriculture, forestry and fishing (-2.0% vs +4.7% in June) and information and communication (+2.8% vs +3.5% in June).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, monthly economic activity was up 3.0% in July, following a 0.7% increase in the previous month.
