Costa Rica: Economic activity growth gains steam in June
Latest reading: Economic activity grew 4.9% in year-on-year terms in June, which was above May’s 2.9% increase. The reading reflected a broad-based upturn, with activity in the agriculture, forestry and fishing, manufacturing and information and communication sub-sectors all improving in June.
Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at 4.4% in June, up from May’s 4.2%. On a monthly basis, economic activity grew 0.4% in seasonally adjusted terms in June, rebounding from May’s 1.1% fall.
