Colombia: Manufacturing output growth accelerates in November

Manufacturing production grew 13.9% year-on-year in November, accelerating from October’s 10.2% increase. Looking at the details of the release, 37 out of the 39 total subsectors recorded expansions in November, up from the 33 total that logged in growth in October. November’s upturn was largely due to both beverage production and clothing manufacturing output increasing at brisker paces.

Consequently, the trend improved, with the annual average growth of manufacturing production coming in at plus 14.8% in November, up from October’s 13.4% reading.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect manufacturing output to expand 4.2% in 2022, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2023, panelists see manufacturing output growing 2.8%.
