China: House prices stall in February
House prices in 70 large- and medium-sized cities were flat in February in month-on-month terms according to a weighted average index calculated by Refinitiv from data issued by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The print was down from the 0.2% increase in January, and represented the weakest result since April 2015. According to the NBS, the sale price of newly constructed residential buildings increased in 21 of the 70 cities (47 in January).
House prices increased 5.8% annually in February, below the 6.3% rise in January and the lowest result in 19 months. Annual average growth in house prices fell from 9.0% in January to 8.6% in February.
