Bulgaria: Inflation eases in April
Latest reading: Inflation fell to 3.5% in April from March’s 4.0%. April’s reading marked the lowest level so far this year. Looking at the details of the release, the decline was driven by falling transport costs, offsetting a rise in food and housing inflation.
The trend pointed up mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 2.7% in April (March: 2.6%). Meanwhile, harmonized inflation fell to 2.8% in April from the previous month’s 4.0%.
Lastly, consumer prices dropped 0.83% in April, undershooting March’s 0.15% increase. April’s result marked the weakest reading since September 2024.
