Bulgaria: Inflation is unchanged in August from July
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 5.3% in annual terms in August, stable from the prior month.
Relative to July’s figures, there were higher price pressures for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+8.5% vs +8.4% in July) and transportation (-1.5% vs -1.9% in July). In contrast, price pressures eased for food and non-alcoholic beverages in August (+6.9% vs +7.6% in July).
Meanwhile, harmonized consumer prices increased 3.5% in annual terms in August, following a 3.4% rise in the previous month.
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.13% in August in month-on-month terms, following a 1.69% rise in the prior month.
