Bulgaria: Industrial production falls at sharpest rate in six years in June
Industrial output sank 3.6% year-on-year in June, after a 0.9% increase in May and marking the lowest print in six years. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial output logged 1.3%, down from 1.9% a month prior.
June’s downturn reflected an across-the-board deterioration in the industrial sector. Mining and quarrying contracted sharply, while manufacturing and utilities supply fell at a less pronounced pace.
In seasonally-adjusted terms, industrial output fell 1.9% month-on-month in June (May: -0.4% month-on-month).
