Bulgaria: Industrial activity contracts at softer pace in May
Latest reading: Industrial production dropped 6.6% year on year in May (April: -12.8% yoy). May’s softer drop was due to a smaller fall in manufacturing production and a rebound in mining output.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, factory output rose at a softer pace of 0.5% in May (April: +1.7% mom s.a.). Meanwhile, annual average of industrial production was 4.2% in May, matching April’s reading.
