November 25, 2019
In September, industrial output expanded 6.0% on an annual and seasonally adjusted basis, accelerating from August’s revised 3.6% upturn (previously reported: +3.0% year-on-year seasonally adjusted). A breakdown by Belgium’s Statistical Institute reveled a rebound in manufacturing, coupled with blistering growth in supply of electricity, drove the monthly increase.
Annual average industrial output growth, meanwhile, inched up to 3.3% from 2.7% in August.
On a seasonally-adjusted basis, however, industrial output fell 1.8% from a month earlier (August: +5.6% month-on-month s.a.).
