Belgium: Industrial output slips in March
May 24, 2019
Industrial output decreased 0.8% on an annual basis in March, contrasting a 5.9% increase in February. A breakdown by Statistics Belgium revealed that stalled gains in manufacturing output and setbacks in mining and quarrying, as well as in the utilities supply, were behind the downturn.
Annual average industrial output growth, meanwhile, ticked down to 1.8% from 1.9% in February.
On a seasonally-adjusted basis, industrial output fell 2.6% from a month earlier (February: +0.0% month-on-month s.a.).
