Belgium: Industrial output loses pace in July
Latest reading: Industrial output rose 1.1% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in July, which was weaker than June’s 5.2% rise. The deceleration was due to slower growth in manufacturing output, a sharper fall in energy production plus a persistent decline in mining and quarrying activity.
On an annual basis, industrial output fell 0.1% in July, which was well below June’s 2.7% expansion. Moreover, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production remaining at June’s minus 2.2% in July.
