Belgium: Economic sentiment improves in September
Latest reading: Economic sentiment went up to 96.2 in September, following August’s 94.8. Still, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In September, sentiment brightened in the industrial sector (-10.9 vs -11.3 in August), the construction sector (-8.6 vs -9.0 in August), the services sector (-2.2 vs -2.3 in August) and among consumers (-9.6 vs -12.6 in August). In contrast, sentiment worsened in the retail sector (-6.6 vs -5.2 in August).
