Belarus: Inflation decelerates in September from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices increased 7.1% in annual terms in September, following a 7.2% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were milder price pressures for transportation (+5.2% yoy vs +6.1% in August) and clothing (+2.5% vs +2.6% in August). In contrast, price pressures were higher for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels in September (+10.1% vs +9.6% in August). Finally, the variation in food and non-alcoholic beverages prices was the same as in the prior month (+9.9% in September and August).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.50% in September on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.30% decline in the previous month.
