Belarus: Industrial production gathers momentum in April

Industrial production grew 2.1% year-on-year in April, accelerating from March’s 0.9% result, owing to stronger production in the manufacturing, and mining and quarrying sectors. Annual average growth in industrial output, however, dropped to an almost two-year-low of 3.2%, from 3.6% the previous month.FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists project that industrial production will expand 3.8% this year, which is unchanged from last month’s projection. For 2020, panelists expect industrial production to rise 3.5%.
