Belarus: Industrial output rises at quickest pace in six months in December

January 17, 2022

Industrial output increased 4.3% in year-on-year terms in December, which was above November's 2.7% increase. December's figure marked the strongest rise since June. December's upturn largely reflected a pickup in manufacturing, electricity and mining and quarrying output.

Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 6.5% in December, up from November's 6.1% reading.

FocusEconomics panelists project that industrial production will decrease 1.1% in 2022, which is down 0.7 percentage points from last month’s projection. In 2023, industrial output is seen increasing 2.8%.
