Belarus: Industrial output growth falls to an over two-year low in May
Latest reading: Industrial production growth eased to 1.1% year on year in May (April: +1.4% yoy), marking the weakest reading since February 2023 and remaining weak by post-pandemic standards. Looking at the details of the release, manufacturing production lost steam and water supply swung into contraction, outweighing faster momentum in energy output plus mining and quarrying.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of industrial production dropping to 4.6% from April’s 5.1%, the joint-softest result since November 2023.
