Belarus: Industrial activity records largest contraction in over two years in July

Latest reading: In July, industrial output fell 0.3% compared to the same month of the previous year, which contrasted June’s 0.3% increase. July’s downturn marked the worst reading since February 2023. Looking at the details of the release, the deterioration was largely due to contractions in manufacturing and water output. In addition, energy production growth lost pace.

Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth fell to 3.3% in July (June: +4.0%), signaling a worsening trend in the industrial sector.
