Austria: Industrial production shrinks in August
Latest reading: Industrial production was down 2.3% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in August, following 1.8% growth in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, the reading for non-durable consumer goods worsened in August (-20.3% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +13.1% in July). In contrast, readings picked up for durable consumer goods (+14.1% vs +1.5% in July), capital goods (-0.2% vs -0.9% in July) and intermediate goods (+0.7% vs -1.1% in July).
In annual terms, industrial production was up 0.8% in August, following a 3.2% rise in the previous month.
