Austria: Decline in industrial output softens in June
Latest reading: Industrial output fell 0.2% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in June, a smaller drop from May’s 0.4% decrease. Production of durable and non-durable consumer goods plus intermediate goods rebounded. That said, capital goods output swung into contraction.
On an annual basis, industrial output rose at a more moderate pace of 0.6% in June (May: +1.1% yoy), though marking its sixth consecutive expansion. Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at an over one-year high of -0.9%, up from May’s -1.4%.
