Angola Inflation May 2020

Angola: Inflation hits highest level since April 2018 in May

Consumer prices in the province of Luanda increased 1.9% in May over the previous month, moderating from the 2.0% increase recorded in April. The smaller monthly uptick was driven by softer, albeit still elevated, food and non-alcoholic beverages price pressures.

Inflation, meanwhile, increased to 21.1% in May, above April’s 20.1%. May’s reading marked the highest inflation rate since April 2018.
