Exports in Sweden

Sweden - Exports
Preliminary data revealed GDP declined in sequential terms in Q1 2022, as underlying momentum was set back. While detailed national accounts data is not yet available, the ongoing buildup of price pressures—largely stemming from the war in Ukraine—and the gradual decline of consumer sentiment should have dragged on private spending, derailing economic growth. That said, the scrapping of Covid-19 restrictions should have cushioned the fall somewhat. Moving to Q2, growth should return. In April, consumer sentiment improved from March’s near 14-year low, while both economic sentiment and business confidence remained fairly upbeat. However, headwinds are arising from supply chain disruptions caused by lockdowns in China and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In other news, as the war drags on in Ukraine, Swedes’ support for their country to join NATO has soared to historic highs.Sweden - Exports Data
