Sweden: Inflation hits near 28-year high in November

Consumer prices with a fixed interest rate rose 0.48% over the previous month in November, picking up from October’s 0.23% increase. The pick-up was primarily due to rising prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels.

CPIF inflation in annual terms rose to 3.6% in November, following October’s 3.1% reading. November’s print was the highest inflation rate since December 1993. As such, the trend pointed up mildly, with annual average inflation rising to 2.1% in November (October: 1.8%).
