Slovenia: Industrial output improves in May
Latest reading: Industrial output slid 0.2% year on year in May (April: -4.8% yoy). Looking at the details of the release, May’s improvement was broad-based. Manufacturing output rebounded, mining and quarrying production accelerated, and energy supply contracted at a softer rate.
On a monthly basis, factory output rose 0.9% in seasonally adjusted terms in May, which was notably better than April’s 1.3% fall and marked the best result since October 2024. Meanwhile, the trend improved significantly, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 0.4%, up from April’s minus 1.1% reading.
