Argentina: Inflation increases in October
Inflation came in at 88.0% in October, up from Septembers 83.0%. October’s result was the highest inflation rate since our current records began. The reading was driven by triple-digit increases in prices for clothing and footwear and restaurants and hotels, as well as by an increase of over 90% in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
The trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 65.1% in October (September: 61.8%).
Finally, consumer prices rose 6.35% in October over the previous month, picking up from September’s 6.17% rise.
FocusEconomics panelists expect inflation to be 90.5% at the end of 2023, which is up 1.9 percentage points from last months forecast. Inflation is projected to moderate to 68.2% at the end of 2024.
