Czech Republic: Industrial output grows at fastest pace in over one year in August
Industrial production grew 7.2% year on year in working-day adjusted terms in August (July: +0.9% yoy). August’s figure marked the best reading since June 2021. The notable pickup was largely driven by a notable rebound in manufacturing production. In contrast, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply output decelerated.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, factory output rose 0.9% in August (July: -0.3% mom). Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 0.4% in August, up from July’s minus 1.0% reading.
